Tool
GPU ban checker
NVIDIA restricts certain GeForce serials from datacentre compute workloads. Check whether a card will run on the network before you buy or host it.
Why are some cards restricted?
In 2021 NVIDIA began restricting GeForce boards manufactured for the cryptocurrency mining boom from running in datacentres. The restriction is enforced through driver checks against batches of serial numbers, a restricted card still works in a desktop PC, but will refuse compute workloads in a server environment. CLORE runs this same check before a host can list a machine, so hosts should verify their cards with this tool first. If your card is flagged but you believe this is a mistake, contact support with a photo of the serial and the output of nvidia-smi -q.
